The Nammyong collections are housed in Nammyong Hall and managed by Moon Cheon Gak. The books, documents, and archival materials made accessible online were selected among the materials in the Department. The collections form a unique research resource for the study of Master Sik Jo (1501-1527), whose most well-known nom de plume was 'Nammyong' or 'the Great Southern Ocean'. Nammyong was a well-known scholar from the mid Joseon Dynasty, who had a profound influence in scholarly circles west of the Nakdong River in the Gyeongsang region.
